February 2012 Queen's Message
“When your horse follows you without being asked, when he rubs his head on yours, and when you look at him and feel a tingle down your spine...you know you are loved.” ~ John Lyons
Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone! I hope you all get to spend this wonderful day with someone you love!
The Royalty has been having so much fun! We went to a Feed My Starving Children event, which was very fun! We participated in the Winter Carnival Parade. We had a great time! The Royalty has also gone to many saddle club banquets. We would like to thank all the saddle clubs that invited us to their banquets! The Royalty has greatly enjoyed these events! We are planning on participating in the Kenyon Cutter Sleigh Ride and going to the North Metro Banquet this month.
I would like to dedicate this Valentine’s Day to the horses that helped me not only become the rider I am today but, in part, the person I am today. These horses have taught me so many different and important skills as a rider, but the love they have shown me has made me want to be a better person. Here is to the horses that have shown me love!
To Zip (QT Zippin’ In Time), you taught me to try to look on the bright side of any situation. You taught me to always keep my “ears perked”, even when things get scary. You also taught me that even if I’m young, I still have a lot to offer, and because you were so young you taught me how to be a leader. You relied on my confidence and leadership. Thank you, sweet boy!
To Dancer (Kelly’s Rock), you taught me to give my all every time. Even if you were feeling under the weather or maybe you had an ache or a pain, you would always give 100%. You also taught me to do what I love with my whole heart. You absolutely love your job and you taught me to find something I enjoy and fully involve myself in it. You thrived under pressure and used my nerves to better our performance. Kelly’s Rock is a perfect name, because you are a rock star in every way.
To Melman (Oscar’s Invitation), you always taught me to find the humor in any situation. You have such a big personality and it always showed. You always knew just how to break the tension of serious situations, like taking a potty break every time you entered the coliseum at Champ Show.
To Tari (Ima Tari Two), my little sweet heart, you taught me to greet everyone with a smile. You are so friendly to everyone. You always greet everyone with the intention that they could be your new friend, even if they shoot you an unfriendly look, you still go on loving them. I love walking outside and calling your name and hearing you whinny.
There are many horses that have helped me become a better rider and person, and I would like to thank them for all their lessons and their unconditional love! I hope you can all take some time during February to spend some special time with your horse and the ones you love!
May God Bless You On the Journey ~ Sam ~ 1Corinthians 13
