Wow it is hard to believe how fast the summer is going. It seemed like just yesterday we were brushing all the winter hair from the horse’s backs and now it is already August. Summer has been a little slower for us on our group activities but we have all been busy showing our own horses and having a great time with our family and friends. The weather has been wonderful although there have been a few rough days all in all the weather has been pretty good for the show season.

As we look back on our previous events we would once again like to thank everyone who helped out with our royalty horse show on June 29th we had a blast and really appreciate all of the help that we have received. We would like to send a big thank you to our judges Jerry Magin and VeeAnn Wood for their time, they really helped move the show along. So once again thank you!

Through July we hope that everyone had a safe 4th of July and enjoyed the long weekend, I know we did as we went to our horse shows and still had time to watch the fireworks. Then the very next week we all attend Gillette children’s hospital and shared some craft time with the children as we decorated cards and visited with their families. It was fun to make all the kids smile and see the joy in their parents faces. The rest of the month was pretty quiet, so we just got ourselves caught up from the busy summer.

Our events for August include the royalty banquet which will be held on August 8th where everyone is welcome to come and cheer on their saddle club queen. We would also like to wish all the queens good luck and remember this is fun so relax and enjoy the evening.

We then have the special Olympics on August 22nd at Woodloch stable in Hugo, and of course soon to follow is the MN State Fair where we will be handing out ribbons during the Western portion of the show and remember all saddle club royalty is welcome to hand out ribbons so sign up at the ribbon desk with your escort.

So with the summer rapidly coming to an end we would like to remind everyone to get their champ show entries in as soon as you can and we hope to see many of our friends at the MN State Fair.
